Google Reputation Management

Google reputation management requires a different approach than online reputation management for other search engines such as Bing and Yahoo. There are differences between Google and other search engines. For example, it's been said that Bing prefers key phrases in the URL (others have said the same thing about Google), that Bing prefers pages from larger sites, and gives more weight to capitalized search terms. Some webmasters even create entirely different sites optimized for specific search engines.

One thing is certain, Yahoo, Bing and Google all pay heavy attention to backlinks from other websites - though each gives different weight to different backlinks.

Google related reputation management focuses on web content, as well as backlinks and the sites the backlinks originate from. The 'reputation' of the website with the link to the target site is important. Google uses Page Rank (PR) to determine the sites reputation, or trustrank. Bing and Yahoo do not use Page Rank but instead rely on their own formula. A higher quantity of links benefits online reputation networking more for Yahoo and Bing, whereas a lower quantity, but higher quality can benefit target sites for Google focused reputation management.
